Mindsets are a way of seeing the world, seeing ourselves, seeing other people that are kind of predetermined. In depression It's very easy for us to have negative mindsets so that if anything goes wrong these mindsets are activated and the information we take in we kind of reject any positives reject anything that's good and accept the things that match our mindsets.💙
I'd like to contrast that point of view, mindsets, with open-mindedness. If you have open-mindedness, you kind of look at things from a much broader perspective and say, "okay, well that went wrong, but I'm gonna learn from it I'm gonna adapt and I'm gonna make improvements".💙
So I'd like you to see the role that mindsets play in depression and try to catch yourself if you use a negative lens to see the world and say, "what would it be like if I didn't see the world through this negative mindset but instead used open-mindedness?" 💙
