I often try to think of ways to explain depression to people who don't have it and haven't gone through it. And one of the ways I think it may be possible to get across the level of exhaustion is to think about how tired you are at the end of a long, hard day. 💙
Maybe you've been working hard all day and you've had problems with your boss. Maybe you've had kids to look after all day. Maybe you've had elderly relatives to look after, maybe all three. And at the end of the day, you can be absolutely exhausted. 💙
That's the level of exhaustion that people who are deep in depression deal with every single day. But maybe you know that you will regain energy through sleeping at night and maybe the next day's the weekend or you have a holiday coming up and you'll have some respite. 💙
But depression just grinds on day after day, after day, after day.💙
