People who are in depression are generally very bad at self-care. By the time you're in depression, you don't have the energy to try to do self-care. But often a lack of self-care is one of the routes into depression. 💙
So what do I mean by positive things, self-care things that you can try to do while you're depressed that may help you out of depression? 💙
Well, there are things like:
1: eating healthy, so a wide variety of healthy whole foods that provide a good selection of minerals, fiber, vitamins, nutrients things like that
2: healthy drinks
3: lots of good quality sleep
4: social interactions if those give you energy and if you find those valuable
5: lots of downtime: time to play, time to explore your curiosity and imagination
6: meditation
7: the ability to recognize your own thoughts and try to reduce negative thoughts
8: the ability to accept your feelings and to work with your feelings and not to avoid those feelings
